Door Decor for Every Season

Door decorations are extremely popular during fall and winter, but why shouldn't your door be dressed up all year around? There are dozens of ways to take a door from plain and boring to fun and inviting! Each season even gives you opportunities for multiple styles and themes. The possibilities are endless, but here are a few for each season!

Summer Door Decorations

Wreaths can be found in various sizes, colors and styles which makes finding a wreath with bright vibrant colors and summer themes easy. Just browse Etsy or Ebay for a few minutes and you will find dozens of summer style wreaths that are sure to dress up your door. Wreaths are not the only way to dress up a door many other items can be used to spice up a plain front entry. For the holidays try a flag pinned to the front door, red white and blue stars hanging from a wire hanger, or a big red white and blue bow. If you have children that want to get involved in summer door decorations make bright colored door decorations with Popsicle sticks! Paint the sticks with craft paint and glue them into shapes and designs that can be hung from a wire hanger or nails.

Fall Door Deocartions

Wreaths in warm colors and prints are a staple door decoration for fall. Real branch and hay wreaths can make a great statement in fall bare or decorated. A great alternative to the traditional wreath decor are decorations made from branches, fall leaves and pine cones. Try stringing them together with fishing line and hanging vertically. For Halloween don't forget to get out the spooky supplies. Fake cobwebs, Halloween themed wood carved art, pumpkins and even a bag of fake garlic to hang on the door handle. For thanksgiving, trace your children's hands to make Turkeys they can decorate themselves. Hang a few with fall leaves from a wire hanger for a cute D.I.Y. look.

Winter Door Decorations

Wreaths in winter colors and themes can be beautiful. This blue Winter Wonderland wreath is simple but adorable with winter berries, cream flowers and beautiful blue yarn. Winter also has the benefit of several holidays; Christmas definitely calls for its own door decor. If you have little ones; try getting them involved in the door decorating festivities. You can make great Christmas crafts to decorate the door! Two fun ones for kids; Fold coffee filters in half and cut holes in the fold side. Open for a beautiful snowflake design that can be attached to the front door. Or go all out and turn your entire door into a wrapped gift using dollar store wrapping paper and ribbon.

Spring Door Decorations

Spring is my favorite Season and I love spring door decor. In spring I usually go back to the classic decoration of a wreath. I choose pastels or neon colors with a trendy design or lots and lots of spring flowers. Another great option for spring is a wicker basket or cone with silk flowers flowing out of the top. Great spring flowers; daisies, tulips and lilacs. I have also seen some very crafty friends cut a small watering can in half and hang it from ribbon or a nail on their door. More great spring door decor; small flags with spring flowers, carved wood art or bright colorful ribbons. Kids friendly door decor project: If your child is old enough to sew with a needle by hand, sew together lots of silk flowers that have been cut close to the bud with fishing line an attach around door frame.

No matter the season, your door can look fabulous! These are only a few ideas and if you get creative I know you can come up with many more! What are your seasonal door decor ideas?

I desperately need some door decor and you have some really nice fall ideas. Shamefully, I have a magnetic hook on my door with no decor. It looks terrible, yet I can never find anything already made that is skinny enough to fit between my door and glass storm door. Some of the ones you show look like they would work perfectly! Voting up useful.

I try to dress up every inch of my home and the door is never left out! I don't currently have a screen door, but have had them in the past and I will often do my decorations on the screen (or storm) door!

randomcreative, to be honest, I don't right now either. There is too much dirt being blown around where I am at and sadly it wouldn't probably get stolen by a kid.
